Ash Ketchum
Ash Ketchum (Satoshi for Japanese fans), the protagonist of the Pokémon anime, is based on the version from the first season of the anime adaptation who is in turn based on Red from the original games.
This version of Ash is fully articulated and scaled to fit with the normal-sized Pokémon by Mega Construx based on their rough sizes according to the in-game Pokédex. Two weeks ago, I realized the Marvel mechs are just the right size to work as humans next to the mainline Pokémon by the largest Canadian competitor to our favourite brand.
So I started working on adapting that into an actual human figure, working my way up from the legs. Figuring out the proportions to the rest of the body was a bit of a struggle, but turned out well in the end. This is the result and now my Pokémon finally have a human to run away from.
This is the fourth revision of the model, overhauling the face, adding a hip swivel, and making some previously unclear building steps clearer.
